Damp bedroom carpet beside a chalet's wet room
The property
A chalet house whose ground-floor bathroom became a level-access wet room, beside a bedroom. Under the tiles, a shaped tray falls to the waste.
The problem
The bedroom carpet along the shared wall turned damp, only ever after showers. Tiles and grout looked sound, and the waste had been cleared.
How we found it
Readings rose towards one corner. Water run only into the floor waste lifted them, while the isolated shower pipes held pressure, and the camera showed warm water escaping at the tray edge.
The outcome
The corner was marked and the readings photographed. A tiler lifted a small section to reseal the tray edge, and the family claimed for the carpet using our report.
