What we trace

Leak detection services, sorted by what you have noticed

Start with what you have noticed: a water meter that keeps moving, boiler pressure that keeps dropping, a damp patch spreading on a ceiling or a wet strip outside. Each leads to the service below that deals with it.

East Anglian Leak Detection is a water leak detection company working in homes and businesses. Whatever is leaking, the order stays the same. We find it from above the floor or ground, check it with a second method, and photograph the marked spot before we leave. A written report follows, and we can usually repair the pipework, quoted separately.

No find, no fee on home water leaks covers one leak on a water main up to 30 m or the hot and cold supply pipes, at least half a litre a minute, where we also carry out the access and repair. It does not cover central heating, shared mains, businesses or leaks that come and go. Full conditions are on our terms page.

Find the service that matches your problem

Each line below starts with what people tell us when they ring. If several fit, or none does, call and describe it, and our questions will point to the right test.

Water leak detection

Not sure what is leaking? Start here, with the meter test that shows if it is inside or outside.

Water main and supply pipe leaks

A water company letter, or a meter still turning with every tap shut.

Bathroom and shower leaks

A brown ceiling mark below the bathroom, or water arriving from the flat upstairs.

Gas leak detection

The gas emergency service has made the supply safe, but nobody knows where the leak is.

Leak repairs

The leak is marked and you want it fixed, with repairs guaranteed for 3 months.

How a booking works

1

Before we come

We ask about the property and the leak, then agree a price and a date. We need working stop taps, access to meters and parking at no charge within 100 m.

2

On the day

Testing narrows the search to one pipe, then to one point on it. The bill is settled on site, by card or bank transfer only, with no cash or cheques.

3

After we leave

The written report reaches you after payment. If you want us to make the repair, it is quoted separately, and our repairs are guaranteed for 3 months.

Claiming on your insurance

Your insurer may want a say before work starts, so check the policy or ring them first. Where trace and access cover applies, they will want the location, methods, readings and photographs, which our report gives. It is sent after payment, and only the insurer can decide whether the claim is paid.

Common questions

Ring us and tell us what you have noticed. Depending on the problem, we may ask how often you top up the boiler, roughly how many metres of pipe run from the meter, whether leak sealer is in the heating, and whether it is a home or a business.

We agree a figure with you by phone or email first. That figure buys a set block of time on site, a half or full day depending on the job, and stays fixed even if we find the leak quickly. Parking, tolls and materials are charged at cost.

Yes, both. If you do not live there, or a third party is paying, say so at booking. We may take payment from businesses, and from payers who will not be present, before confirming. Businesses cancelling need to tell us at least a working day ahead.

We can usually book a visit within 24 to 48 hours. Lines are open 8am to 8pm, every day, on 07700 102 008, or email hello@eastanglianleakdetection.co.uk with the details. A meter reading or the boiler pressure figure helps when you ring.

If you can smell gas, ring the gas emergency service first. We trace leaks on gas pipework only once the gas emergency service has made it safe, then mark the leak so the registered gas engineer who repairs it starts in the right place.
