Heating leak under a limestone hall floor
The property
A large rebuilt house with limestone through the hall and kitchen, and the main heating pipes crossing under the hall in the concrete screed.
The problem
Topping up had become a job every couple of days. A heating engineer passed the boiler, and the insurer wanted the leak's position before any stone was lifted.
How we found it
Shutting the underfloor loops and upstairs circuit in turn put the loss on the buried hall pipes. The camera showed a warm, spreading patch; tracer gas settled the exact stone.
The outcome
That stone was marked and photographed. The report, sent after payment, went with the claim, and the repair was quoted separately.
